The truth is in the distant year of 1849 when Chicago P. D. admitted Allan Pinkerton as its first detective, there were already some private companies of inquiry existed.

In the following year this “Sherlock American Holme” started to exert functions of special agent of the post offices, and not much time after, created in this city, with the lawyer Eduardo Rucker, the Police Agency Northeastern, that would become famous in the area of the Private Inquiry, World-wide level.

With this website, the ANDEPIP hopes to contribute to the clarification of everyone, as well as, to place to show to all of the interested parties the essential requirements, also the statutes, for the exercise of private detective activities in Portugal.
